Learning To Be Content

This week, we explored the deep and often overlooked commandment against coveting. While the desire to acquire is not inherently wrong—God even built it into creation—unchecked desire leads to problems in our hearts, homes, and families.

Through a fun game of “Mall Madness,” we unpacked how coveting fuels fatigue, debt, worry, conflict, and dissatisfaction. In contrast, contentment brings peace. The secret? Learning to resist comparison, rejoice in what we have, release our resources to help others, and refocus on what truly lasts.

God calls us to be a people shaped by gratitude, generosity, and eternal perspective—not greed and discontentment. Our culture may constantly say “more,” but God reminds us that enough is found in Him.
