Challenging Every Man to the Kingdom and Purposes of God

Mission: For men to seek and obey God, love and cherish their families, and to serve and lead with all of their hearts.

The Men’s Ministry: Men called by God to love each other, to serve one another, and to be there for one another. A focus passage is out of Ecclesiastes (4: 9-12).

Discipleship is what an effective men's ministry is all about. Jesus tells us very clearly in the Great Commission that "we are to make disciples of all nations". In order to make great disciples we must also be disciples; they go hand in hand. Look at this diagram from Man in the Mirror that so clearly illustrates how this idea looks when implemented and what happens to us when it is properly followed. Ask yourself these questions:

  • Am I being discipled by another man of God?
  • Am I discipling another man to help him grow in His walk with the Lord?

If you are not -- pray that God will show you the right men for these two critical roles so needed as we advance His Kingdom. If you need help in this area, please contact me at buckleyt@parkavenue.org or call me ay 269-6702, 1208.

Special Ministry Info
The first few years of the life of a child are so very critical; we as men must provide a loving and nurturing relationship to our children. Failing to do so can (and often does) lead to the potential of a child developing gender identity confusion.Damascus Road Minsitry, an educational outreach ministry, deals with this very issue; they have a website link that you should be aware of in the event you know of someone who struggles with this troublesome crisis. Even if you don’t have kids at home, this could still pertain to you; please ask God to reveal to you those who may struggle with this so you, in turn, can help them.
