What is GroupLife?

Gathering in groups is God's way of getting us to work in tandem with Him to experience transformation in one another's lives. One of our values at PABC is building through relationships. We encourage every believer to gather with groups of passionate believers and invest in one another's lives. Without groups, spiritual formation and personal spiritual growth is just not possible. Groups provide a place for the Holy Spirit to do His work in our lives so that we can be reflections of Christ.

What type of Groups can I join?

At Park Avenue, we have three types of group ministry.

Community Hour Groups
These groups are generally larger than small groups and meet on campus during our Sunday morning Community Hour (10 - 11am). The primary purpose of these groups is to offer life-transforming Bible study and to provide caring ministry. We have many ongoing Community Hour groups that meet year long and also topical short-term groups (10 – 12 weeks in length) offered three different times a year.

Small Groups
These adult groups meet in homes weekly for fellowship, encouragement, support and life on life transformation. We value the importance of mutual sharing within a small group so the typical small group is no larger than 14 people. We see small groups as the primary way in which members of Park Avenue are cared for and discipled in their spiritual growth journey.

Support Groups
These groups are specifically designed to help those in our body who have a need for support in a specific season of life. The weekly meetings include a large group setting followed by smaller breakout groups. Griefshare, Divorce Care, Single and Parenting and Financial Peace University are examples of the support groups we offer at Park Avenue. These groups are seasonal and short term. Please see our website for more information of meeting times and locations.
Griefshare
, Divorce Care and Celebrate Recovery would fall under this area of GroupLife

Why do I need GroupLife?

Gathering in groups is God’s way of getting us to work in tandem with Him to experience transformation in our own life and the lives of others. Real spiritual transformation and growth doesn’t take place in a vacuum. God is our source of life and we believe His life is most visibly present and tangibly dispensed as we are connected with one another and doing life together in groups.

Which group should I join?

We suggest you join a group based on your “season of life.” Most of our groups work best when the people within the group share common interests, backgrounds, marital status or similarly aged children. Keep in mind, it may take some time to find a group that is a good fit for you. You might want to visit a few different ones before you commit to one but don’t worry, you’ll find it. You can find a listing of all of our groups online at www.parkavenue.org.

How do I join a group?

The easiest and quickest way to get connected to GroupLife at Park Avenue is to join one of our Community Hour Groups or Support Groups.  These groups run all year long and are open to anyone who would like to attend.   To join a Small Group we encourage you to come to a Group Connection Event or click this "Join a Group" link and tell us a little about yourself.
